FAQ

  • What makes your therapy style different?

I mix evidence-based approaches with a deeply human style. You’ll find EMDR, IFS, and somatic tools—but also curiosity, laughter, a little weirdness, and permission to show up exactly as you are.

  • Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes! I see clients virtually across Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. Sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. All you need is a private space, internet connection, and a willingness to show up as you are (even in pajamas).

  • What's your stance on substance use and recovery?

I offer nonjudgmental therapy for people in recovery, sober-curious, or navigating complicated relationships with substances. I believe healing happens in community and relationship, not through shame or rigid rules. We can explore this at your pace, with compassion and care.

  • Do you work with non-monogamous, kinky, or non-traditional people?

Absolutely. I welcome individuals and couples in monogamous, polyamorous, open, and exploratory relationships. I’m also kink-aware and sex-positive. My priority is creating a space where your relationship values and choices are met with respect, not pathologized.

  • How much does therapy cost?

    Individual Therapy: $125 per session

Couples or Relationship Therapy: $150 per session

Group Therapy: Sliding scale ($30–$70, depending on the offering)

  • Do you offer sliding scale?

Yes! I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for folx with financial need. I believe therapy should be accessible, and I’ll do my best to work with your situation.

If you're navigating financial hardship, just mention it during your consult or intake and we’ll talk it through - no need to prove anything or overshare.

  • How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is due at the time of service and processed electronically through a secure platform. I accept credit, debit, HSA/FSA cards, and you can choose to receive a invoice after each session for your records.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I don’t currently accept insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide a superbill upon request. This is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement (depending on your plan).

Pro tip: Check with your provider to ask, “Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits for virtual therapy in my state?”

  • What's your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee unless it’s an emergency or we’ve made another arrangement. Life happens - just keep me in the loop when you can.
